Gas Leak at PNC Bank in California, MD

At Approximately 12:07 PM this afternoon Multiple Fire/EMS/Police and Hazmat Units were dispatched to the PNC Bank located at 22658 Three Notch Road in California, MD for a reported Gas Leak. Units arrived on the scene to discover a Gas Meter was struck and was leaking gas. Units on the scene began evacuating the bank and other area businesses due to the high meter readings of gas. Area Roadways along the PNC Bank were shut down. Washington Gas was contacted but had no ETA was given. They arrived within an hour of the incident. Power was also secured to the building as a pre-caution.


As of 1:30 PM, the Gas Leak has been secured along with Power being turned back on in the PNC Bank. Units are also now beginning to clear the scene with the exception of several units until the building is ventilated. The St. Mary’s County Communications reported to the Chief of the scene that one patient was driven to the Hospital for an unknown reason, possibly for exposure to the gas before units arrived.
