Just before 7:30 AM this morning a Water Main broke behind Leonardtown High School by the generators caused the closure of the school due to the sub freezing temperatures. The primary reason for the school to close was if the sprinkler system was activated in the event of a fire, the sprinkler system would not work correctly. Maintenance crews are on the scene and are fixing the problem. School is expected to be back In session tomorrow. All staff were released from the building due to the issue.
Fairlead Academy, Tech Center and Leonardtown Middle School were not affected by this issue!!
