Many Volunteers were there to assist including over 250 Leonardtown High School Students who escorted the athletes around the football field to their competitions. Also the Patuxent River Naval Air Station was on site and was recognized for their dedication and hard work and for volunteering today. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office was also at the school to present the awards and medals to the athletes which is always exciting to see.

Special Olympics would like to thank everybody that came out for this special event that continues to go on every year, also thank all the volunteers. If it wasn’t for them, they couldn’t do Special Olympics. All the Leonardtown High School Students that assisted today was a pleasure to have.
