St. Mary’s Transit not dependable right now. Do you take it?

Do you take the St. Mary’s Transit System? According to many local residents in St. Mary’s County who have contacted SOMDWXNEWS, they have become a unreliable transit service to the community. Buses are not showing up always and that’s leaving passengers waiting with groceries, or waiting with their kids, or the elderly/disabled waiting outside.

The transit system is losing drivers, but also are not communicating with their passengers and are lying to their passengers and are giving them incorrect information. Also many drivers do not even know where certain locations are such as Millison Plaza.

The elderly and disabled are also suffering as they are waiting on the side of the road and not being communicated with well. Some disabled passengers have canes and are waiting for the bus for over an hour, which usually another bus arrives at locations much earlier.

The transit system has a Facebook Page which is not being updated to the community. Many people also are paying monthly passes and are not getting their money’s worth from it.

Passengers are also beginning to contact the county commissioners of what’s been occurring but are not getting answers back in a timely manner. Passengers feel they should get reimbursed for their monthly passes. Elderly and the disabled pay $15.00 for monthly passes, and regular monthly passes are $30.00.

If you take St. Mary’s transit, please comment what you’ve experienced.
