Lexington Park Man Arrested on Drug and Firearm Charges

PRESS RELEASE: Lexington Park Man Arrested on Drug and Firearm Charges

On October 26, 2022, detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Division, along with assistance from the Emergency Services Team (EST) and the Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, executed a search and seizure warrant in the 45800 block of Jay Dee Court in Lexington Park. Dominick NMN Mackall, age 34 of Lexington Park, was located at the residence along with over 12 ounces of suspected marijuana and cocaine. Also recovered was over seven grams of suspected crack-cocaine, 110 grams of counterfeit Oxycodone pills (suspected fentanyl), and a quantity of Buprenorphine, Adderall, numerous handguns, a shotgun, ammunition, scales, packaging material and U.S. Currency. Mackall is prohibited by law from possessing firearms and ammunition. Mackall was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, and charged with the following:
CDS: Possession with Intent to Distribute in School Zone CDS: Possession with Intent to Distribute
CDS: Possession-Marijuana Greater than 10 grams
CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana
Possession of a Stolen Regulated Firearm
Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon
Possession of a Firearm with Nexus to Drug Trafficking Crime Possession with Intent to Distribute Large Amount-Fentanyl

total amount of seized counterfeit Oxycodone was 968 pills totaling over 110 grams. Approximate street value of the CDS seizure is $50,000.

Detectives Investigating Homicide on Old Washington Road:

PRESS RELEASE: Detectives Investigating Homicide on Old Washington Road

On October 25 at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the 2500 block of Old Washington Road in Waldorf for the reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, who had been shot, deceased. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded and are investigating. The victim was identified as Michael Anthony Dodson, Sr., 60, of Waldorf. This incident does not appear to be random and detectives are pursuing leads. Mechanicsville Man Arrested for DUI After Collision with Deputies

PRESS RELEASE: Mechanicsville Man Arrested for DUI After Collision with Deputies

On October 25, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Loveville Road and Old Red Oak Lane in Mechanicsville. The complainant reported a black Expedition was driving erratically, and into oncoming traffic. Deputies arrived in the area and located the vehicle occupied by a male, later identified as Jerry Michael Weber, age 55 of Mechanicsville. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle at which time Weber accelerated to speeds of 90 mph and began driving into oncoming traffic. During the brief pursuit Weber made a U-turn and struck a ditch at which time he accelerated and struck Corporal Jason Smith’s marked police vehicle head-on. A second police cruiser was damaged in the collision which was occupied by two deputies; neither sustained incapacitating injuries. Cpl. Smith and Weber were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

Weber was released from the hospital and arrested. Located in Weber’s vehicle was a suspected CDS smoking device containing suspected cocaine. Weber was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center and charged with the following:

CDS: Possession-not Cannabis
CDS: Possession-Paraphernalia
Driving While So Impaired by Drug(s) and Alcohol Incapable of Driving Safely
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
Negligent Driving
Reckless Driving
Fleeing and Eluding and numerous other traffic infractions

Cpl. Smith was treated and released from the hospital. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.

Officers Recover Loaded Handgun

PRESS RELEASE: Officers Recover Loaded Handgun

On Saturday, October 22 at approximately 2:38 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a passenger car on Smallwood Drive near Copley Avenue in Waldorf. When officers detected the odor of marijuana, they asked the driver to exit the vehicle, at which time the driver notified officers that he was in possession of a gun. A subsequent search led to officers locating a loaded handgun in a bag that the driver was wearing. The driver, Cameron Cordel Chesley, 21 of Waldorf, was arrested and charged with wearing and transporting a loaded gun. On October 22, a judge released Chesley from the Charles County Detention Center on personal recognizance. Officer D. Heishman investigated.

Detectives Investigating Homicide on Albemarle Place

PRESS RELEASE: Detectives Investigating Homicide on Albemarle Place

On October 23 at approximately 2:17 p.m, the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) received a 911 call reporting a shooting. PGPD made contact with the caller, who was in his vehicle with the victim, and determined the victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Further investigation revealed the shooting had taken place in the 2700 block of Albemarle Place in Waldorf. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) was contacted and detectives responded to investigate.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was sitting in a vehicle on Albemarle Place when it was shot at several times, ultimately striking the victim. The victim, Aden Christopher Garcia, 19 of Waldorf, was treated at a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries on October 24. This does not appear to be a random shooting.
